Berta F/W 2018

How to achieve Berta’s sexy makeup look with House of Thabiso’s featured makeup artist Louise .

When it comes to super sexy styling, Berta leads the way for dramatically daring, barely-there dresses. And to showcasing the collection at New York Bridal Fashion Week in October 2017, the clever Israeli designer knew exactly how to WOW by adding the right amount of Red-Carpet glam to the runway. Presenting the perfect smoky makeup, we absolutely love this beauty look for a wedding. Here, the fabulous Louise shares her top tips on how to create Berta’s runway makeup for your big day.

“I love this look recently seen at New York bridal fashion week on the Berta runway. The make-up beautifully balances a fresh natural skin and lip with a soft yet dramatic eye. It’s such a perfect combination with the use of the feminine palette tones but still creating a subtle edginess. To recreate this look, begin with beautifully nourished and cared for skin to help achieve that natural glow. Keep foundation light and perfectly matched to your skin tone to achieve a natural look and use a light reflecting primer underneath to enhance the dewiness of the skin.

Eyes are the focus of this look so keep the blusher soft and subtle, a soft pink liquid or cream blush would work well for this look to keep with the dewy finish of the skin. Eyes are framed with beautiful full but natural looking brows, use a very fine pencil or a cream with a fine angled brush to create natural brow strokes, keep the brows full but not too dense looking and begin by brushing them up with a brow brush and fill in any gaps. Finish with a clear brow gel to fix them in place.

Choose a warm, dusky pink shade of eyeshadow to create a soft colour wash over the entire lid area and accentuate slightly outwards at the outer edge in a winged shape. Next take the same shade along the entire lower lash line and blend well to create a soft hue of colour. If you like a more dramatic finish you can line with a black or dark brown eyeliner along the outer upper lash line, blend well to maintain the softer smokey effect and then also line right into the roots of the lower lashes and blend well again.

This look is finished with lashings of mascara but make sure to brush through the lashes after your mascara to make sure there are no clumps, or it will look too heavy.

Complete the look with a nude soft beige pink toned lip to compliment the colour tones of the look. Apply with fingertips to create a beautiful natural finish.”
