How to pick a pair of standout shoes with Emmy London
For the last few years, brides have been way more out there when it comes to choosing statement shoes and this season is no exception. The hottest S/S 2018 shoes spotted on the main fashion runways were all about bedazzled embellishment, colour and standout detailing. Why should bridal be any different? But can, and should you wear anything other than ivory on your big day? We asked top shoe and accessory designer Emmy Scarterfield, Creative Director at Emmy London on what to wear if you’re on the hunt for the ultimate keepsake shoe:
‘When it comes to choosing your wedding day shoes, yes go for something different, but try to pick a pair that won’t date or age with time. Steer clear of bold fashion statements and instead opt for styles with dramatic beadwork, detailing or choose an alternative colour to ivory. Blush is the hot hue for 2018 and a subtle but super cool alternative to traditional tones.’
Inspired by her love of the English countryside and wild florals, Emmy London’s Meadow Dreaming collection for 2018 features buttery blush pink suede with bloom and leaf embroidery, metallic detailing, tassels and sparkle. See our favourite pieces from the collection here.
