Trend alert: Textured florals

From 3D floral appliques to huge voluminous skirts with intricate beadwork, A/W is all about textured florals.

Floral detail is the big hit next season, whether it’s floor-sweeping tulle gowns with itsy bitsy flower-patterned embellishment or chic tiered skirts with simple floral features, volume and interesting floral-inspired texture are the key to Autumn’s dresses. Blooming gowns by Naeem Khan with dramatic optical 3D flower detail are the perfect style nod to next season. Delicate organza appliques dotted with crystals and beads are the show-stoppers from top Israeli designer Berta. Flowery lace has been given a contemporary update with sheer panels and frilly layers at Costarellos.  Carolina Herrera presents the simplest of outlines with delicate silk florals stitched onto the cleanest dress shapes. At Zuhair Murad, it’s all about elaborate detail with contemporary floral shapes embroidered onto sheer and sleek silhouettes. We love Georges Hobeika’s dramatic translucent cape embroidered with a smattering of tiny textured flowers and the super sexy sheer gown with statement silk blooms.
